Just an example of how this could work to creating a more balanced game. While the hero could have healing magic, combined with de buffs. This will make for interesting combinations equiping the son with attack magic and buffs. Keep in mind I may consider making the son have a higher magic attack while the hero has a higher physical attack. Basically this will enable to customize your characters your liking, creating 2 pairs of characters and dividing up the attack and defense magic accordingly. This will also play roles at times in solving puzzles. Certain characters have "exclusive spells" that can be obtained through out the game. Quote from: Utopia on July 05, 2013, 01:27:27 PMAlchemy will be broken down the same way you can equip your characters with spells but only one person can hold one spell at a time. Although I hope you won't constrict them into using specific type of spells such as defence/offence (like in SoM). Also like the idea that there can now be 2 alchemy users (daddy and son) and that they can have their own unique formulae. That was one of the things I really liked, the dark graphics really complemented it. Like the idea, hope the dark atmosphere will still be present. Access to new and old areas will be available. This adventure will become more massive time time around since the "Dream World Machine" has warped beyond what it previously looked like. The world is darker, violent and more warped by time. This time it will take everything he possibly can imagine to survive this adventure. After this happens and they take what he is most valuable to him, the Hero realizes he must act and must return to evermore. A plan to get revenge on the boy perhaps? He did take away the evermore utopia that Carltron aimed too create. When they go they find something unexpected event takes place. As you witness certain events unfold which they all decide to revisit the mansion together to honor the family. Our story picks up as we find our Hero living with is family. The dog has developed human-like characteristics and personality to a certain degree. (keeping this still a dark game if possible, I always enjoyed this part of the overall feel of the game) His dog has now become well adapted to combat and extremely intelligent becomes a worthy dog over the years and protects the family with his life. The story will build around the Hero and his son. The son is struggling with the past and needs to find answers too. The story picks up roughly 20 years later, in Podunk we find our hero, aged into a man. In this sequel, we look to the story of the first SoE ended with the boy happily returning to Podunk with his faithful puppy companion. something other than just monsters and mazes. Already plenty of puzzles in the works so it can at least have more of what I like to term "exploration difficultly" where as I mean progressing can be tough because of fun obstacles or puzzles. Things like this were done in SoE with the dog and boy but not quite on the scale it could and should have been! There are so many ways to use the Hero, Dog, Boy combo. The hero on his own having to work together with the other party. The game will consist of the part being separated into parts the boy with dog. Alchemy with be broken down the same way you can equip your characters with spells but only one person can hold one spell at a time. The characters would consist of the original hero (grown into a man) his dog which is alive and well managing to survive all these years with no problems (perhaps of effects of the evermore machine) and the final character his son, the new "boy" so to speak. The overall idea consists of a sequel to the original game which would follow the story as much as possible, while returning to the world of Evermore in brand new way in with areas yet to be discovered. At first the idea of remaking the original was tossed around but that seemed too easy and let's be honest, this game always felt unfinished and slightly abandoned in a sense. This game is amazing, beautiful and captivating. That means you and I already have something HUGE in common.
